Description
If you want something crisp, fruity and refreshing - and a change from Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay - then Tallowwood Creek Colombard is well worth getting to know.
Tallowwood is part of the Beelgara Estate in the centre of New South Wales's Riverina wine region. Founded over 60 years ago it was transformed into a state of the art operation a few years ago by dynamic winemaker Bob Berton.
As for the Colombard grape, well it was originally from France's rural Gascony where it was used to make Armagnac. Now, more often than not, it produces mouthwatering, citrussy table whites like this. Under the Aussie sun it really performs well. Tallowwod boasts a light straw colour and juicy tropical fruit aromas with hints of freshly sliced green pepper. Perfect wine for Thai chicken curry.
