Serving suggestions
One of the biggest attractions of quality Australian Chardonnay like this is its versatility. Try with fish, oven-baked or pan-seared; seafood pasta, grilled chicken or a mild vegetarian curry.

Description
IF you've been following the rise of Australian wines for the last 25 years or so, you will surely have tried your fair share of Chardonnay. And you will have noticed how the style has evolved in that time from the extra ripe and oaky to the restrained, even elegant and finely balanced. People simply wanted wines that were lighter, easier drinking and better suited to food.

Andrew McPherson was among the first to recognise these changing consumer tastes with a series of wines that really hit the spot for thousands of wine lovers. A few years back he established Sinclair Estate with renowned winemaker Alister Purbrick of Victoria's Château Tahbilk. Their Chardonnay in particular developed an immediate and loyal following and it's easy to see why.

The aroma of peaches, apricots and citrus fruits is really attractive. And in the mouth the same flavours surf across the tongue on a wave of gently tingling acidity. Aussie growers have had it tough lately - especially in the 2007 vintage - having to contend with drought, fires, frost and hail. But these setbacks have made them all the more determined to deliver quality, value and above all those 'sunny' Australian flavours they know their customers love.
