Serving suggestions
This is a great wine to serve when friends drop round, as a glass on its own. It's also lovely with smoked salmon, chicken with tarragon, pan fried scallops or steamed seabass with stem ginger.

Description
Orange is the new 'in' region for elegant Aussie whites, hotly tipped by the critics. The Times wrote "if you haven't heard of Orange … you will" and The Independent notes "The cool wine region of Orange is gaining a reputation for naturally refreshing wines with good intensity of flavour".

This wine is made by Philip Shaw - arguably the world's greatest living winemaker, and the only one to twice win the coveted Winemaker of the Year at the London International Wine and Spirit Competition. Born in Adelaide, South Australia, Philip began making wine when he was 12 years old, using the bathtub and lemonade bottles. His early experience (aged 15) includes a stint at the legendary Penfolds winery, and at the tender age of 24 he became head winemaker at Lindemans. Having given up the corporate world, he now has his own boutique winery, the wines of which have been described as "epic … collectors' pieces … unmissable" (Matthew Jukes). He was one of the first to realise the potential of cool-climate Orange, and established a vineyard there in 1989, adding a winery in 2003, where he makes small-batch, individually crafted wines like this one.

This fine, unoaked white is made from a rare and delicious combination of Chardonnay, Semillon, Sauvignon and Riesling. The tropical fruit of Chardonnay, and ripe melon and peach flavours of the Semillon, are given a delightful aromatic lift by the Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling grapes.
