The freshness of this delicate, crisp white makes it ideal as an appetiser. Equally, enjoy with grilled white fish, a fennel and orange salad, seafood or risotto. Drink by end 2009.

Description
Molise is Italy's second smallest region and least populated area after Valle d'Aosta. It is also Italy's youngest, having only been established in 1963. Prior to that, it had been part of Abruzzo to the north.

The region has suffered a peck of trouble over the centuries, the most serious of which is its depopulation which was at its worse in the 1860s and post World War II. For it is one of Italy's poorest regions, mostly mountainous and its land difficult to cultivate. This is hard for the people who remain, but is in fact ideal for the vines that grow there ... one of the few plants to survive. Like its neighbour Abruzzo, Montepulciano is its main red grape, while Trebbiano dominates the white plantings.

Cantina Cliternia is one of the few modern wineries in the region, kitted out with the latest technology and with a forward-thinking team of winemakers. This includes the highly experienced consultant Piero Serafini. He is a native of the Veneto, who first worked in Molise in the early 1990s and was recently lured back. Piero brings his long experience of working in the north, with all the latest methods and technology and ably applies it to the excellent raw materials available in forgotten Molise.

La Torretta is 100% Trebbiano, tended carefully to keep yields down and cooled by coastal breezes to ensure a long, slow ripening and grapes that retain a delicious freshness.
