Description
Praised by the press, sought after by royalty - but only you get South Ridge!
Everyone's after South Ridge - and no wonder! Since 2000, Mike and Christine Roberts' superb sparklers have notched up 110 awards, they were the bubbles of choice at Her Majesty's 80th birthday lunch and what's more, the estate was crowned World No.1 for Sparkling Wine at the International Wine and Spirit Competition.
Mike continually fends off offers from Grande Marque Champagne houses. They want to buy his award-winning vines because the South Downs have the same combination of chalk and clay as Champagne, where new vineyards are needed but in short supply. And Cuvée Merret is made with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes just like expensive Dom Pérignon.
Mike hopes you will enjoy his new cuvée: "It's golden in the glass, with a lovely fine mousse (always a sign of high quality) and a biscuity, brioche bouquet. Very elegant and creamy in the mouth - brimful of soft, ripe melon and rich honey flavours. Long, satisfying finish too."
