Description
Award-winning wine expert Paolo Masi is regarded as one of Italy's best producers. His estate, Fattoria di Basciano is located right in the heart of the Chianti's premium Rufina area, on the top of a hill overlooking the Argomenna valley on one side and the right bank of the Siene river on the other.
The vineyards are situated 300 metres above sea level, on stony soil known locally as "Galestro", perfect for ripening the grapes. In 2007 quality was sky-high - but yields were extremely low. Our advice: snap up great value 07' gems like this … while you still can!
Silky smooth mouthfuls of black cherry, chocolate and marzipan lead to a luxuriously decadent palate. Deliciously moreish on its own, or perfect with midweek pizza and pasta.
