Flavor Profile
South Africa has become the “most dynamic wine-producing country in the world right now.”
– Tim Atkin, Master of Wine
We’re taking you there, with this lip-smacking Chenin Blanc – the star white in South Africa’s world-class Western Cape. It hails from the premium Overberg district and the talented Bruce Jack – one of South Africa’s most awarded winemakers (Jancis Robinson compares him to America’s legendary Randall Grahm).
Bruce is quite passionate about this region, and The Rustler (inspired by local legend Angus “The Good Rustler” McLean) is his pride and joy. “Overberg is magical for many reasons, not least The Good Rustler legend,” says Bruce. It’s “a brilliant, cool, beautiful place to grow grapes.”
Bruce’s tribute to “The Good Rustler” has a history of winning high praise from international judges. Top critics The Wine Gang called it “textbook stuff – fresh and leafy with apple-scented fruit, a gentle, honeyed straw nuttiness, and lime zest acidity. Good as an apéritif, but also works with creamy sauces, shellfish, and anything with a light touch of ginger or chili.”.
Don’t miss the newly released 2018, an exciting taste of what the Overberg region – and gorgeous South Africa – has to offer. And, be sure to read Angus McLean’s story on the back label – it will have you toasting to well-intentioned “rustlers” everywhere.
Hurry – at this price, this is one Rustler that won’t stick around for long.
