Beyond the Label

Riesling is one of the wine world’s most noble grapes. And, it’s a white we get a lot of requests for – especially the deliciously bone-dry styles.

Well, thirsty fans are in luck with this discovery, unearthed by our expert in Germany – considered the top destination for world-class Riesling. It was crafted at the renowned Karl May Estate (established 1815, but local records indicate their original winery is the oldest building in the region). It lies near the Rhine River in premium Rheinhessen. And today, seventh-generation brothers Peter and Fritz May are continuing their family’s proud tradition of making seriously top-notch examples of Riesling.

This one’s crafted with estate-grown grapes (indicated by the word Gutswein on the label) and is Trocken, aka: dry. It bursts with ripe, citrus- and orchard-fruit character, and has the fruit vibrancy to stand up to spicy dishes – go for Thai or Japanese noodles. Traditional German dishes like schnitzel or späetzle are also fantastic.

This is one of our favorite dry Riesling finds yet – order your share today for a taste.
