Duca di Cardino Sangiovese Toscana 2018

Duca di Cardino Sangiovese Toscana 2018
The Barbanera family, makers of our most popular Tuscan wines, have brought us a special red. Crafted in honor of their legendary ancestor, this silky Sangiovese boasts a HUGE 95 point score from Italy's top critic and layers of ripe black fruit.

Beyond the Label

The Barbanera family make some of our most popular (and most awarded) Tuscan reds. If you’ve tasted their wines, you know the quality that’s in store. If you haven’t, you’re in for a real treat with this special release.

Crafted with premium Sangiovese from the family’s estate vineyards in Tuscany, this vibrant red pays tribute to their legendary ancestor, Orazio Barbanera. After defeating the Florentines in a skirmish in an artichoke field, Orazio earned the honorary title ‘Duca di Cardino’ (‘Duke of Artichokes’). And his namesake red is certainly fit for nobility …

Duca di Cardino Sangiovese boasts a long history of critical acclaim, including 95 points from Italy's top critic for this lush 2018. Look for layers of ripe, succulent black fruit, plus hints of violet and sweet spice. A generous palate and velvety tannins make this a perfect partner for roasted meats or hearty pasta dishes.

One more thing to note: the Sangiovese grape also stars in Tuscany’s most famous (and expensive) reds, like Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino. So, getting a top-notch Tuscan Sangiovese for under $15 a bottle is a fantastic deal – hurry to claim your case.
