Lyeth Library Collection Meritage 1996
Perfect for anniversaries, birthdays and special dinners, this rare, 25-year-old “Library Collection” red hails from the acclaimed Lyeth Estate and Napa’s excellent 1996 vintage (rated 96 Wine Spectator points). Tiny quantities.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

Wine Details

Beyond the Label

Established by Chip Lyeth in 1981, Lyeth was one of the first Californian wineries to pursue the unique complexity achieved by blending Cabernet Sauvignon with the other major Bordeaux varietals. These wines are known as Meritage blends (pronounced like "heritage").

Today, thanks to our longstanding relationships in Napa, you enjoy exclusive access to this rare “Library Collection” release – a much-loved wine that the estate set aside to release at peak maturity.

Handpicked from cellar, this 25-year-old Reserve hails from Napa’s stellar 1996 vintage, rated 96 Wine Spectator points: a year that produced “a remarkable number of compelling wines… with fine concentration and depth.” It’s never left the cellar, is in mint condition, and we took every last bottle.

With mature wines, we encourage you to uncork with care. Cork is a natural product, and over time can become delicate. (If the cork should break, simply insert your corkscrew into the remaining piece and try again. No luck? Push the cork piece into the bottle and decant the wine into a pitcher or jug.)
