This limited-edition release hails from Friuli’s tiny, premium Colli Orientali sub-zone and expert winemaker Paolo Valle. When restaurants canceled orders this year, Paolo turned to his favorite U.S. customers (you!) with a special shipment of his 93-point, double-gold Sauvignon Blanc. FYI, to win one of those golds, this wine had to outshine more than a few pricey Sancerres and Pouilly-Fumés.
So, what’s it like in the glass? Supremely elegant, with vibrant lime, green apple, and peach aromas. Then, zesty citrus flavors and a touch of spice on the long, fresh finish. A classy aperitivo and equally tasty with seafood or creamy pastas.
