Beyond the Label

“The 2015 vintage has lived up to its great potential in every sense of the word … exciting and exquisite.”

Expert James Suckling minces no words when it comes to this extraordinary year for Bordeaux. And (as you’ll taste), our friends Eric and Philippe Gonfrier really capitalized on the ideal vintage conditions.

The acclaimed Château Lauretan is nestled in the hills of the Côtes de Bordeaux, on a rocky hillside that overlooks the meandering Garonne River. It’s here the brothers hand-selected their best, organically grown Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot from their pristine vineyards. After treating the premium fruit to a long period of maceration in the cellar (to coax out seriously intense, black-fruit flavors), they rested the wine a full 12 months in oak barrels.

The results speak for themselves. Scoring 90 points from James Suckling (he called it “attractive” with “ripe tannin, dark-berry, and dark-chocolate flavors”) and a gold medal at the tough competition in Lyon, this beauty is ready to impress now.

Pair with grilled or roasted red meats, hearty stews, firm, full-flavored cheeses and more. Don’t wait to order – Bordeaux’s magnificent 2015s are disappearing fast.
