Beyond the Label

“Once Portugal’s most famous red, Dão is now softer, fruitier and very much back in fashion … this has black plum, raspberry and cherry cake flavors allied to depth and richness.”

That’s top critic Oz Clarke on a previous vintage of oak-aged Giesta. Here’s the stunning 2018 edition—it’s packed with all the same major flavor impact and is a worthy follow-up to the previous, gold-medal release. And it's already got its own 95-point gold medal from International Wine Challenge...

An exclusive for our customers, Giesta is crafted by the talented Nuno Cancela de Abreu (below). He’s an expert on Portugal’s signature grape, Touriga Nacional. Giesta also features two other Portuguese stars: Tinta Roriz (aka Tempranillo in Spain) and spicy Jaen. Its ripe, red fruit and subtle spice flavors will really shine with smoked sausage, pork chops or hearty stews.

According to Wine Spectator, “prices are superb and quality has never been better” in Portugal. So now is definitely the time to buy—before everyone else catches on. Don’t delay.
