L’Epiphanie de Saint-Estèphe 2018

L’Epiphanie de Saint-Estèphe 2018
We can think of a few reasons fans of collectible (and fun-to-show-off) Bordeaux need to get their hands on the final bottles of this little beauty. But the most important? It's going to be long gone very soon.

Wine Details

Beyond the Label

We can think of three reasons fans of collectible (and fun-to-show-off) Bordeaux need to get their hands on the final bottles of this little beauty:

1. It’s from an elite corner of Bordeaux. The tiny appellation of Saint-Estèphe produces some of the most distinctive, long-lived reds the region – with a “totally captivating, racy intensity” (Neal Martin). And, while it borders über-famous Pauillac (home to Latour, Lafite, and Mouton), it’s also a source of great values…if you know where to look and snatch them up fast.

2. Made with 100-point expertise. Two of Saint-Estèphe’s iconic châteaux are Cos d’Estournel and Montrose. Both have been rated a perfect 100 points by critic Robert Parker in top vintages. While this wine doesn’t come from either of those estates, it does hail from a fairytale château that’s owned and managed by the same exact team that runs one of them. Their head winemaker even used to make the wine over at Mouton Rothschild ($800-a-bottle), which is also no stranger to 100-point reviews.

3. 2018 is an “exceptional vintage.” Critic James Suckling went on to remark: “Is 2018 a new benchmark for Bordeaux?” All the critics seem to be wondering the same thing, because the wines are that good. And collectors are on the hunt for the best values. Lucky – we’ve got you covered there.

BONUS reason (as if you needed one at this point): We’re running out. And once it’s gone, it’s gone.
