Beyond the Label

Here’s a real coup for Rhône fans, direct from the Perrin family. The two brothers at the helm were named Decanter magazine’s 2014 ‘Men of the Year’ – no small feat – and their iconic Château de Beaucastel is considered by many to be the finest Châteauneuf of all. Today, you can enjoy their exclusive Côtes-du-Rhône at a tempting, friends-only price.

For this special cuvée from the highly rated 2016 vintage (which Decanter says “is one of the best vintages of the past few decades.”), Jean-Pierre and François selected fruit from three of their favorite vineyards on the family estate. The grapes were then hand sorted and the wine lavished with that legendary Perrin TLC.

It’s a classic blend of local star grapes Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre (with a splash of Cinsault and Carignan). Look forward to spicy, dark-fruit aromas, leading to vibrant flavors of red berry and black cherry, with hints of tobacco and white pepper. Rare depth and class.

According to Robert Parker, the Perrin family are “upholding the cornerstones of French winedom, terroir, estate bottling, quality and authenticity.” And their Meridion is definitely the kind of wine that makes an impression on your dinner table. You’ll see for yourself when you taste it.
