Flavor Profile
For being such an easy-breezy-beautiful, light-bodied Provençal pink, Moulin de Pontfract Rosé sure delivers a lot of floral and citrus deliciousness. But what else do you expect from from the indelible Domaine de Pontfract?
Owned and operated by the Paul family for around three centuries, the estate boasts vineyards throughout the famous rosé-producing region.
This one is a blend of Grenache, Caladoc, Cinsault and Syrah—a traditional combination for pink wine production—grown in an incredible amphitheater-like plot surrounded by hillsides. Here, the vines receive ample sunlight and better air circulation, while the soils benefit from improved drainage. This ensures the grapes will ripen beautifully, creating an ideal balance of sweetness and acidity.
In the glass, it all adds up to a lovely pale-pink color, delightful floral aromas and crispy pink grapefruit flavors accented by tones of strawberry and honeysuckle. To serve, chill the wine thoroughly, but make sure it isn't too, too frigid when you pour it (cold temps mute flavors!).
Delicious as an aperitif, it will also be excellent with roasted white meats, creamy cheeses and salads.
We can rarely keep fine Provence rosé like Moulin de Pontfract in stock for long. Order now to avoid missing out.
