Beyond the Label

Fans of sumptuous, spicy reds will want to get this exciting southern French red in their glass. From talented winemaker Benoît Fillaquier, Charles Cros represents the Renaissance of a historic winemaking cooperative.

Over 40 years ago, the village of Fabrézan’s local co-op crafted world-class wines. Their focus on quality naturally led to higher production costs, and eventually, they had to close up shop. But Benoît has restored the co-op to make this wine in honor of Charles Cros, a poet, inventor, and native of Fabrézan.

It’s a classic marriage of Carignan (60%), Syrah (30%), and Mourvèdre (10%). Look forward to ripe plum, black currant, and wild herb aromas. The palate offers more vibrant dark fruit, plus silky tannins and spice notes on the finish. Enjoy it like French locals would, with game meats or hearty stews.

When you order this luscious French red, you’re helping to revive a historic winemaking cooperative. Order your share today.
