Portinho do Côvo 2020

Portinho do Côvo 2020
From the talented Jaime Quendera (winner of the ‘Best Red Wine in the World’ trophy, Vinalies Internationales 2008), this unique red marries Tempranillo, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s rich, yet elegant, and brims with ripe dark fruit.

Beyond the Label

“Portugal is one of the most dynamic wine-producing nations in the world today,” writes Wine Spectator. Taste the proof for yourself with this unique red blend from renowned winemaker Jaime Quendera.

Jaime won the ‘Best Red Wine in the World’ trophy at Vinalies Internationales 2008, so he’s no stranger to making world-class reds. For Portinho do Côvo, he selected the ripest grapes from seaside vineyards along the Península de Setúbal, located near the harbor of Port Côvo. Aragonês (aka, Tempranillo in neighboring Spain) imparts spicy red-fruit notes, while Syrah adds berry flavors and Cabernet Sauvignon gives a deep color and rich black-fruit characters. All that effort earned a pretty big reward: a grand gold medal from Vinalies and a gold medal at Mundus Vini.

Luscious, yet still elegant, Portinho do Côvo will shine with roasted red meats, hearty winter stews and more. And it’s smooth enough to enjoy on its own, too.

Portugal’s rich reds remain something of an insider’s secret for now, but that’s quickly changing. Secure your case while our limited stocks last.
