Beyond the Label

Rare Opportunity Alert

Other than iconic Château Margaux, Pascale Peyronie’s Château Pauillac is the only château in Bordeaux’s Médoc region allowed to use an appellation as its name – a rare honor that speaks volumes on her estate’s prestige.

So as you’d expect with a wine of this caliber (and such tiny production), every care has been taken: the winemaking consultant is none other than Michel Rolland, the barrels are the finest money can buy (T5 from Taransaud, all 100% new), and the fruit is a strict selection from three very special sites – one bordering Châteaux Latour and Pichon Comtesse, the second alongside Lynch-Bages, and the third right in the middle of a Mouton Rothschild vineyard.

If you factor in the superb quality of the 2016 vintage (where “the best Pauillacs are magnificent,” says critic Antonio Galloni), you think there’d be nothing more to say.

Au contraire.

The acclaim that’s rolled in for this exclusive is as impressive as its pedigree. Château Pauillac boasts seven 90+ point scores (so far), including a 94 point rave from expert Jeb Dunnuck:

“A rock star of a wine that blew me away, the 2016 Château Pauillac is from a tiny 1.5-hectare estate and is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, aged two years in new oak. Deep, medium to full-bodied, flawlessly textured and balanced, it has textbook notes of smoke tobacco, cedar pencil, earth, violets, and cassis. Unfortunately, there are less than 300 cases produced, but it’s well worth the extra effort to track down.”

Jeb’s right – some may have a hard time getting their hands on this beauty. But not you. Pounce on your share today.
