Famed Château La Conseillante, located in the heart of Pomerol on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, is known for consistently excellent wines that age wonderfully. For nearly 150 years, generations of the Nicolas family have deftly tended to the vineyard—though history tells us that fine wines have actually been produced on this property since at least the mid-1700s. No stranger to acclaim, the Château’s Grand Vin is the recipient of a steady flow of awards, including many for this extraordinary 2015 release (see below).
Bordeaux’s 2015 vintage is regarded as one of the finest of this century by the world’s top critics, and this mature Pomerol from the Nicolas family shows why. A classic, barrel-aged, Merlot-dominant blend, this elegant Pomerol is smooth with a plush texture that’s complemented by a good dose of freshness from the addition of Cabernet Franc.
“Aromas of tar, black olive skin and blackberries follow through to a full body. Ultra-fine tannins and a long, linear finish with super intensity. Well-crafted in every sense. A fabulous Pomerol for the future. 98 points.” – James Suckling“This is bottled decadence. The fruit is pure silk and velvet with its layers of polished, ripe, pure berries. The wine has a great future ahead. Give it until the wine hits its 10th birthday before popping a cork. 98 points.” –Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
