The Sartirano family has tended vineyards in Piedmont’s beautiful rolling hills for four generations, making the fine traditional wines of this renowned region, as well as more unusual blends. Current proprietor, Paolo, selected perfectly ripened Barbera grapes from the family’s vineyards. Barbera is one of the Piedmont region’s star red grape varieties, adored by locals and international wine enthusiasts alike for producing delicious, great-value wines. Paolo also added a touch of Dolcetto, another native Italian grape. In his words, this helped to tame (“domare”) the wine, making it softer and fruitier.
