Factor in the current “Golden Age” for California wine (2018 is another in a string of phenomenal vintages) and all the conditions are right for maximum flavor impact. The wine was treated to a 16-month slumber in French oak and boasts a history of acclaim at top competitions.
Look forward to a deep, red-purple color, with hints of tobacco leaf and smoke accenting the intense berry aroma. The palate is rich and powerful, introducing blueberry and sweet cassis, along with smooth tannins. Dark chocolate and spice round out the long finish.
