Manciata Generosa 2019
Daniele Malavasi’s uncommon blend of inky-black Ancellotta (a native Italian grape) and Petit Verdot is a luscious tribute to his mama Ames and her instinctive approach to cooking – which influenced Daniele’s award-winning winemaking approach.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

Wine Flavor Profile
Manciata Generosa is a big, rich red wine with aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, and blackberry, supported by vanilla spice notes. More vibrant, black-fruit flavors follow on the palate, plus hints of vanilla, black pepper, and cocoa. Silky tannins frame the long, elegant finish.
Beyond the Label

Fourth-generation Italian winemaker Daniele Malavasi crafted this unique red in honor of his mother, Ames. A passionate cook, she taught Daniele that “a little bit of this or a manciata generosa (generous handful) of that” can make all the difference in the kitchen – and in life.

Well, great winemaking shares many similarities with great cooking, and Daniele followed his mother’s tried-and-true approach while making this tribute wine. Giving local grape Ancellotta a beneficial manciata generosa of Petit Verdot, he made an already rich wine all the more deep, dark, and complex. His “recipe” proved successful, and scooped up a gold at China’s biggest (and most competitive) wine show.

You’re in for a glass that overflows with voluptuously dark and spicy fruit character, with a dense, smooth palate and vibrance that’ll have you pouring seconds. And maybe thirds. But be sure to pair with an equally robust meal, like a meaty ragù that’s been simmering all day or deep-dish pepperoni pizza.
