Mickey Rooney Chardonnay 2019
Despite his diminutive stature, Mickey Rooney will long be remembered as a larger-than-life character, cementing his position on Hollywood’s A-List with MGM’s popular Andy Hardy series. Our homage is this luscious, oak-aged California Chardonnay.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

Wine Details

Beyond the Label

Despite his diminutive stature, Mickey Rooney will long be remembered as a larger-than-life character. He cemented his position on Hollywood’s A-List with MGM’s wildly popular Andy Hardy series and his appearances with beloved costar Judy Garland. Our homage to the top box-office star of 1939-1941 is a rich-but-not-too-rich California Chardonnay.

The winemaking team sourced the grapes from prime-sited vineyards in Paso Robles, “one of California’s most dynamic regions” (Wine Spectator’s Tim Fish). Thanks to the great 2019 vintage, the team had their pick of beautifully ripened grapes. Back in the cellar, they treated the Chardonnay to light oak aging, imparting a kiss of spice to the vibrant fruit flavors.

Look forward to concentrated, orchard-fruit notes (think apple, pear, and peach), plus hints of vanilla cream and toasty spice. Lush and opulent, yet still elegant, this Chardonnay will delight alongside fried chicken, baked tilapia, soft cheeses, and much more.

So delicious, it will have your guests calling for sequels! Order today.

Classic Movie Pairing: National Velvet (1945)
Mickey Rooney starred in many memorable roles during his long career, including this one opposite a young Elizabeth Taylor. Rooney plays a jockey who trains a difficult horse in an attempt to win the Grand National Steeplechase. Directed by MGM stalwart Clarence Brown, the film won two Oscars, including Best Supporting Actress for Anne Revere. This delicious Chardonnay is a treat made even better by a great film pairing.
