Numerada 60 hails from a top estate in Rioja and their prime-sited Tempranillo vineyards. But why doesn’t it say ‘Rioja’ on the label? The estate wanted to take full advantage of recent superb harvests by blending grapes from different (all superb) vintages. This breaks the region’s strict rules, so they can’t put Rioja on the label.
A portion of this Tempranillo was aged in fine oak barrels, so expect toasty vanilla spice notes melding with the ripe cherry and strawberry flavors. Easy drinking and food friendly, it’s perfect for a tapas night and delicious alongside lamb, pork or classic paella.
