About Wine

If your cork breaks in the bottle, you can usually still open and serve the wine in 5 simple steps:

1. Remove any loose pieces of cork from the bottle and the corkscrew.
2. Carefully re-insert the corkscrew into the remaining cork, going down the full length with steady, gentle pressure.
3. Pull the cork out slowly using your corkscrew's lever.
4. If the cork keeps crumbling, use a long, thin tool (such as a butter knife) to gently push it down into the bottle. Do this slowly over a sink or towel, as pressure release may cause wine to spurt.
5. Pour or decant the wine. Once the cork is pushed in, pour directly from the bottle or decant into a pitcher to filter out any remaining cork pieces.

The wine is still safe to drink - broken cork does not affect quality.
