Aluado Reserva is a bold, barrel aged expression of Portugal’s inky Alicante Bouschet—an intense, full-bodied red that every big red fan needs to taste.
When winemaker José Neiva first made Portugal’s original 100% Alicante Bouschet, his friends called him aluado (“loony” or “moonstruck”). You see, this dark-colored grape has been used historically to add color and depth to blends…and was rarely bottled on its own. But José’s daring paid off, and Aluado went on to earn the love of countless critics customers.
This Reserva is the deluxe edition, aged in new oak barriques for richness and complexity. After you’re done admiring the inky-black hue, get ready for aromas of intense berry fruit and sweet spice, which lead to a full, deliciously fresh palate of black plums, cassis, blackberry, vanilla and cinnamon.
