Jake and Elwood Blues (aka, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd) slammed into the cultural consciousness when they debuted as musical guests on Saturday Night Live. Their chart-topping album was followed by a feature film, The Blues Brothers, in which they embark on a mission from God to reunite their band and save the orphanage where they were raised.
Crafted in celebration of the film’s 40th anniversary, this luscious red hails from premium Paso Robles and the great 2017 vintage. One of California’s warmest regions, Paso Robles has gained a reputation for producing rich, powerful red wines. And thanks to the quality of the 2017 growing season, our team had their pick of top-notch grapes.
Just like the film, The Blues Brothers red features a diverse, compelling cast of characters. Cabernet Sauvignon takes center stage, imparting intense, black-fruit flavors. Italian star Barbera plays the supporting role and brings darker color and a fuller body. There are also splashes of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Sangiovese, all of which add complexity and depth to make this a wine far greater than the sum of its parts.
