Bristed Brothers Sauvignon Blanc 2020

We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

Wine Details

Beyond the Label

Sauvignon Blanc is one of our most in-demand whites. While great examples can be found across the globe, the most thrillingly intense Sauvignons come from New Zealand’s premium Marlborough region. This just-landed release flies into our cellars courtesy of the Bristed brothers.

The Bristed brothers are legendary in Marlborough. For one thing, they were among the first to plant vineyards here, so the vines that produced this exhilarating Sauvignon Blanc are some of the region’s oldest. (That’s a good thing – older vines grow less fruit, but the grapes they do yield are super-concentrated and flavorful.) The brothers are also, at 70, renowned for their crazy capers – like building and flying their own biplane.

For years, the Bristed brothers have sold their grapes to a famous cellar. But when we offered to put their name on this exclusive label, they jumped at the opportunity to work with us. The debut release scooped a coveted, double-gold medal, and this new release is every bit as delicious. It’s a fine showcase of the excellent, but painfully low-yielding, 2020 vintage.

Look forward to vibrant aromas of tropical fruit, zesty lime, and wet stone. The palate offers ripe mango, guava, and citrus flavors, plus trademark grassy freshness on the long, mouthwatering finish. Enjoy as an aperitif after a long day of your own crazy capers or pair with fresh seafood or creamy goat cheese.

Our customers are always thirsty for Sauvignon Blanc, but there is less wine than normal to go around after 2020’s small harvest. Act quickly to secure your share.
