Nestled in the heart of the Sousa River Valley, Casa de Vila Verde is one of the Vinho Verde region’s oldest estates, owned by the Pinto de Mesquita family since the 13th century. Talented winemaker Diogo Sepúlveda, a Vinho Verde native who’s also made wine in Napa and Bordeaux, works his magic in the cellar. To craft this fine white, he’s brought together an exciting blend of Portugal’s cool native grapes: Loureiro, Arinto, Trajadura, and Avesso. All four are known for their vibrant acidity and bright, citrus- and orchard-fruit freshness.
Sip this as a lovely aperitif, or serve well-chilled with a spread of cheeses, olives, and nuts. It’d also be great with lighter grilled chicken dishes or seafood, especially when drizzled with lemon or lime.
