Out of the hundreds of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines that entered France’s prestigious Concours des Vignerons Indépendants, Château Sixtine 2022 was one of only four reds to win a gold medal.
The Diffonty family have been growing vines here in the southern Rhône since 1673 and current proprietor Jean-Marc Diffonty has been called an “innovative visionary” by the world’s leading critic, Robert Parker. In addition to that big gold-medal win, Jean-Marc’s 2022 release has also won 93 points from Decanter plus two 92-point scores, one from critic James Suckling:
“Full-bodied, powerful and rich, this youthful Châteauneuf makes a very bold statement.
A classic Châteauneuf blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, Château Sixtine is made in extremely small quantities at the Diffonty’s boutique estate.
