Collezione di Paolo Chianti 2019

Collezione di Paolo Chianti 2019
Paolo Masi’s wines always deliver – and his Chianti is particularly popular. Thanks to a solid vintage (and Paolo’s talent), 2019 release is juicy and delicious as ever, boasting loads of that spicy, red-cherry character Chianti fans love so much.

Flavor Profile

Wine Flavor Profile
Collezione di Paolo is a medium-bodied red wine with aromas of bright red cherry and cranberry, plus hints of violets and earthy spice. The palate is deeply concentrated, with silky plum and red berry flavors. Bittersweet, chocolatey notes round out the long finish.
Wine Food Pairings
Goat cheese, shellfish, chicken, pork, herb sauces, vegetarian.
Beyond the Label

Since graduating top of his class at Florence’s wine university, “Paolo Masi has made an excellent impression with the estate wines of his family property,” writes top critic Robert Parker.

Excellent impression, indeed. Italy’s top wine guide Gambero Rosso has famously praised Paolo’s wines for their “irreproachably clean fruit and abundant personality.” And here’s Wine Spectator on their price tag: “Looking for a good Chianti that won’t break the bank? … always a good buy … excellent value.” (Such good value that Paolo’s 2009 Riserva ranked as Wine Spectator’s No. 1 “outstanding” Chianti buy of 2013.)

This latest release will show you why top critics and customers enjoy Paolo’s wines so much. It’s also a perfect taste of the very good 2019 vintage.

Bright red-purple in color, Collezione di Paolo displays inviting aromas of blackberry, cherry and violets, with an abundance of elegant cherry fruit (Sangiovese’s calling card) on the palate. It’s classic partner for pizza and pasta, and Paolo also recommends it with an antipasto platter (try tangy Pecorino cheese and slices of spicy Sopressata) or Tuscan staples like steak Florentine and ribollita, a hearty soup made with bread and vegetables.

Be sure to act quickly. This is a perennial best-seller and Paolo could only make so much …
