Beyond the Label

The northern gateway to Burgundy, Chablis produces some of the world’s most iconic Chardonnay. Its steely, minerally character has inspired winemakers the world over to craft similar styles, in California, Australia, and beyond.

Regularly winning more Chablis awards than any other producer at France’s top shows, the Dampt family makes some of the best. It’s not hard to see why. Brothers Eric, Emmanuel, and Hervé work their magic in premium vineyards bordering Les Clos and Vaudésir – Grand Cru plots where you get some of the finest (and most expensive) Chablis.

Factor in the region’s great 2019 vintage, its famous terroir (limestone and marine fossil-rich soils, ideal for producing pristine, mineral-driven wines), and the Dampts’ low-yielding (flavor-boosting) ancient vines, and it’s not hard to see where this wine gets its concentrated fruit flavors and lively mineral streak. Look forward to classic fresh-cut apple and lemon aromas and flavors, with delicate white flower notes – plus that minerally finesse that makes Chablis so special.

Far more intense than many other Chablis at this price, it makes a perfect aperitif. Serve it with oysters (raise a glass to the region’s famous, fossil-filled terroir) or firm cheeses like Comté. Wonderfully aromatic, it’s ready to be enjoyed now or kept in the cellar for a few years (it will develop honeyed notes with age). Either way, place your order today to secure your share.
