Beyond the label

Font del Victoire is a velvety Pinot Noir from southern France’s Languedoc-Roussillon region. A collaboration between the Gourdon family and award-winning winemaker Nicole McPheeters, it offers all the silky, red-fruit character that Pinot fans adore.

The vineyard that produces this wine is steeped in history and has a great story to share with guests as you pour. The Gourdon family’s vineyard is located just outside Béziers in the Languedoc-Roussillon. It lies close to an ancient Roman oppidum (fortified town) called Les Ensérunes, where evidence shows Romans planted vines and produced wine in the region millennia ago (Some things never change!)

Owner Arthur Gourdon’s great-great grandmother, Victoire, planted the estate’s first vines and—along with the iconic fountain in the vineyard also named for her—inspired the wine’s name. Font del Victoire means 'fountain of Victoire' in the local Occitan language, and this old-vine Pinot honors her legacy.

Crafted from carefully tended 40-year-old vines, this silky Pinot is a lively garnet color, with aromas of raspberry, cherry and subtle hints of tobacco. On the palate, look forward to generous raspberry and cherry flavors with gentle tannins and a long, satisfying finish.

Food pairing tips: Pinot Noir is versatile and complements a wide variety of foods and flavors. Our favorite matches for Font del Victoire are authentic French dishes such as grilled lamb, ratatouille and crispy duck confit. It also pairs well with roasted chicken or mushroom risotto.
