Gamay is the famed grape of Beaujolais, beloved for its silky, red-fruit flavor and serious freshness. The cool, foggy hills of Napa Valley make a terrific home, too, and many top estates are experimenting quite successfully with it. It’s still uncommon to find single-varietal bottlings of it without searching far and wide (and paying a pretty penny).
