Beyond the Label

“Italy’s star continues to rise in the wine world, and Puglia is providing some of the fuel for liftoff,” writes Wine Spectator. If you’re a fan of Puglia’s reds—or deep, rich reds in general—then you’ll want to taste this ‘Special Selection’ release.

As head winemaker for the highly respected Torrevento estate, Leonardo Palumbo has crafted his share of impressive wines. For this red, he chose an equal blend of native grape varieties Nero di Troia, Primitivo, and Negroamaro (hence the cuvée name ‘Tre Terzi’ or ‘three thirds’). When he tasted the final wine, Leonardo was so proud of his creation that he gave it his name—a longstanding tradition in his family of winemakers.

Leonardo wasn’t the only one bowled over by the quality. Leading critic Luca Maroni rated Palumbo 94 points. And once you taste the wine’s vibrant plum, blueberry, and sweet spice flavors, we think you’ll be wowed, too.

This is the perfect red for a big Italian feast. Order your share today, then serve it alongside mature cheeses and charcuterie, pasta dishes, and other Italian-inspired classics.
