Beyond the Label

Hot on the trail of the coolest Pinot Grigio…

Crafted by local star (and Italian Pinot Grigio supremo) Giuseppe Secchi, Sentiero dei Pini boasts a long history of acclaim and wins rave reviews from our customers every vintage. But that’s not the only reason you need to get some of this on your table.

The wine takes its name from a very special site that was once home to an ancient Roman temple, approached via a spectacular spiraling path lined with pine trees (‘Sentiero dei Pini’ means ‘trail of the pines’). The hill also provided a perfect vantage point for advancing Roman legions, as their last point of call before heading deep into the mountain terrain. Today, this precious plot is occupied by carefully tended Pinot Grigio vines that yield whites as fresh as an alpine stream (see the striking image below). And Giuseppe has first pick of the grapes.

Expressive and balanced, it's appealingly chiselled with pure citrus flavors. Or as Gilbert & Gaillard said of a previous vintage, it's "a wonderful, easy-drinking, modern wine.”

Sentiero dei Pini makes a lovely aperitivo, and will be the perfect partner for classic antipasti, fresh seafood or crisp salads. Thirsty yet?
