Beyond the Label

Year after year, this exclusive California Cabernet Sauvignon from talented winemaker Doug Roosevelt wins raves from customers and critics alike. And he can’t wait for you to taste the latest release...

“This may be the best Shroud Mountain I’ve ever offered,” raves Doug. “It’s super dark and has a lovely, ‘more-ish’ character to it…you’ll be reaching for a second glass, I guarantee it!” What’s got things tasting so outstanding? Doug sourced the grapes from vineyards spanning Mendocino County—a hot spot for fantastic Cab.

He also added a tiny dash of Clarksburg-grown Petite Sirah for extra oomph and color intensity. Factor in the high quality of the 2020 harvest, and you’ll see: this is one can’t-miss Cabernet.

Look for inviting mouthfuls of blackberry and black plum flavor, balanced by delicate notes of cinnamon stick (thanks to oak aging). It is sure to be a hit on your dinner table—especially if New York strip or juicy burgers are involved. Plus, you can share this fun dinner party fact: Shroud Mountain is named for the fog that rolls in off the Pacific Ocean and blankets the peaks of Mendocino County. That same fog helps create a long ripening season in the vineyards, adding depth of flavor to the wines produced there (as you’ll soon taste).
