Spotlight is a crisp dry white with enticing, citrus- and tropical-fruit aromas. The palate delivers mouthwatering mango, melon, and pink grapefruit flavors, with hints of elderflower and red currant leaf. Long, refreshing finish.

We’re putting a “spotlight” on incredible-quality New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc (exclusively for your glass).

This single-vineyard find comes from the premium Marlborough region and the talented Eveline Fraser. For eight years, Eveline served as head winemaker at iconic Cloudy Bay (who produce the most sought-after, and expensive, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc of all). She’s moved on to an exciting new venture, and thanks to her friendship with our man on the ground, Dan Parrott, you get a taste.

Eveline, who trained at top estates (like Veuve Clicquot in Champagne), has won several impressive international accolades for her work—including Decanter’s International Trophy for her dry Riesling and multiple medals for her Sauvignon Blanc. Of course, she had a little help from Mother Nature, too...

In case you haven’t heard, New Zealand’s 2020 vintage is one of the best—and lowest yielding—in history. The quality is incredible, but there is very little wine to go around. Add to that an equally small 2021 harvest, a shortage of harvesters and skyrocketing global demand, and there will soon be no Sauvignon left. As JancisRobinson.com reports, “the situation in Marlborough is unprecedented and will engender severe supply issues.”

But lucky for you, Dan was able to secure a share of Spotlight. And it’s tasting better than ever—with alluring notes of crisp citrus, followed by mouthwatering flavors of mango, melon and juicy pink grapefruit. Hints of elderflower and red currant leaf lead to the long, refreshing finish. It’s a perfect match for goat cheese or shellfish.
