Beyond the Label

This is an exceptional Sauvignon arrival from premium vineyards, just a stone's throw (hence the name, Stonecast) from a top winery address…

We have a great contact in South Africa’s Western Cape—the talented maverick winemaker Adam Mason—who sourced finest-quality grapes for this superbly elegant, fresh white. One parcel of grapes is from the granite-rich soils of beautiful Franschhoek, the other from the high-altitude mountain slopes of Darling. Both parcels bring an incisive mineral crispness to this dazzling white.

Harvesting by hand at dawn and cool fermentation in the winery have resulted in this fine, gooseberry-fresh white, with a bit of creamy weight thanks to lees aging. On the nose it offers a citrusy lift, with grapefruit, gooseberry and freshly cut grass notes. On the palate, it's delightfully pure and fresh, with ripe tropical fruit and citrus flavors.

Presented in its unique square-shaped bottle, it's an ideal brunch or dinner-party white—great with grilled shrimp, salmon or risotto. A pure delight on its own as an aperitif, too.

A wine this special always sells out quickly. Hurry for a taste.
