The Waxed Bat is a full-bodied dry red wine with lush blackberry, violet, smoke, pepper and licorice aromas. The palate offers layers of rich black fruit and peppery, oaky spice, framed by rounded tannins and a long, smooth finish.

Argentina’s Opi Sadler is a seriously talented winemaker. His awe-struck colleagues even nicknamed him “The Magician,” due to his masterful ability to draw out the most magical qualities in grapes.

His Waxed Bat, from the premium (high-altitude) enclave of Mendoza, is always a huge hit with customers, show judges, and critics. Decanter World Wine Awards judges once described it as “so thick you could paint with it.”

The latest release has arrived sporting kudos from the International Wine & Spirit Competition. It’s another delicious edition to The Waxed Bat lineage – if you’re quick enough to get your hands on some.

A blend of berry-rich Shiraz, inky-black Malbec, and chocolatey Cabernet, The Waxed Bat delivers a deep, dark glassful, starting with aromas of lush blackberry and notes of violet, smoke, pepper, and licorice. On the palate, you’ll find layers of rich, black-fruit flavor and oaky complexity. Look for that trademark long, smooth finish. Delicious with a big, juicy cut of steak (and totally unmissable).
