There aren’t many secrets left in Bordeaux, but here’s one…the little-known Castillon region lies on the same limestone ridge as Saint-Émilion.
The vineyards, the climate and the soil (aka the terroir) are identical. The only thing that separates Castillon from Saint-Émilion is an old civic border. But on either side of that invisible line, the wines command vastly different prices.
